It was our 2nd time stay at the all inclusive resort. If you need to go somewhere to completely relax this is the place. Most of our week there was spent pondering what drinks Edwin our fantastic waiter could bring us by the huge swimming pool or should we go take a swim in the warm Pacific ocean 75 meters away 1st? The grounds are magnificent and the staff treat you like family. We found it a great place to accel in the art of relaxing.

Do not go to a timeshare presentation there. We got hooked in at the airport for cheap dolphin swim. when we went they basically kicked us out because we would only give them the 90 minutes promised to us. Then wouldn't give us our money back that we pre-purchased for dolphin swim. More stuff happened and then basically they screwed the guy at the airport and lied about the money and are taking it from him. Never been treated like that at a presentation before. Yes I understand we Agreed to a presentation....90 minutes. The manager was horrible to us and now they are screwing the representative from his commission. Not impressed.

We got tricked into a time share presentation (at the airport, guy named Rueben) here and after being told we could leave at anytime had a very hard time be able to leave even after telling our "guide" Jorge that we really did need to leave. Absolutely stunning property and we would have actually been interested if they would have just given us information instead of trying to close us at the resort. Im sure this is a great place to stay and our brief interactions with the actual staff of the hotel were good.

My brother purchased a time share here at Velas 18 years ago and we have been enjoying it ever since! Velas is a beautiful property, the staff is incredible and the rooms are really nice and clean! It's so fun coming year after year and seeing familiar faces on property. This year Marlena the concierge booked us on the Pirate Ship and it was a total blast! She is so sweet and helpful and happy! We had a great time at Velas. The room was fantastic and the people were great. We got a little bit of them trying to sell us on things (time share), but they were not insistent. We tried our best to tip well and were treated very well, but I feel like they would have treated us that way regardless. They gave us everything we asked for and were always courteous and kind. We had no issue with language (we're native English speakers) and got to toy around with our Spanish. The food was great; my kids especially liked breakfast at the outdoor restaurant. Sweet breads and muffins, refried beans, scrambled eggs and mountains of bacon. We opted for the all inclusive version and utilized the room service at no extra charge. In the future I would do that again more often. Kids want to stay in the room and play games and watch TV after a long day out and about? Sure! We'll get you a pizza/burger/nachos/burrito/etc while Mom and I go to a nice sit down meal alone and enjoy our time.

An excellent Mexican connection for us up North. This is the real Mexico and all the good it has to offer. Wonderful folks working and visiting throughout the year - all year! Clean, well maintained...
