“Room was dingy, dark. Rug was torn and rippled in spots. The room was overall depressing. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so the room fogged up with showers. The sink handle came off in my hand. We checked in on a Sunday and checked out on Wednesday morning. The room was NEVER cleaned during our stay. Towels were never replaced. The room’s smoke alarm went off at 5:00 AM because the battery needed replacement, but no one ever returned with a new battery. When I notified the front desk that the smoke alarm battery was not replaced, she said nothing could be done because the maintenance man was gone. “Thanks a lot; hope we don’t burn to death tonight!” I said, to which she replied: “OK, have a good evening.” Needless to say, The Red Lion Hotel will never see us again!”
