Beautiful place. 5 star service. Great food. Anything you want whenever you want it. Highly recommend this place for everyone. Has an adult side & family side. Great kids pools with the slides & all else & and the adults has a swim up bar. Many restaurants of all types. Very safe atmosphere with no worries whatsoever. Been to several locations in Mexico and this was the best by far. My only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer. Special thanks to Julia, our resort contact and Alfredo at the adult pool who made our trip one we won’t forget. Hope they both know they made our vacation great & hope the resort knows how great these two people are.

Don't come expecting great service. The resort is beautiful and they really could take it to the next level. The rooms are nice and there are plenty of places to eat and just enough activities. We don't feel like we have to wait in many lines and while most of the staff are quite friendly, service is not their strong suit. Often times the answers to questions is "I don't know" or just lack of understanding. We came because of the kids club, but they have lots of rules that make no sense. None of the staff that we've experienced at the kids club seems to want to be there, and one specifically is super anxious and kept calling our friend when their baby looked he was going to cry. I ordered room service and after an hour of not arriving I called and they said that they brought it but I didn't answer the door. I've been sitting with my kids in my room waiting the whole time. Instead of simply apologizing and saying they'll send it back up, they said "we'll talk to our supervisor to see if we can make it again". Too bad we had dinner reservations for the adults that we'll have to miss. The food is pretty good, especially for an all - inclusive resort. The drinks are as well and they have surprisingly good coffee. Susana at the dinner reservation table is great if you need assistance.

This was our second time at Paradisus Esmeralda and it has been absolutely wonderful again. Eva at the breakfast buffet is so friendly and joyful. The Hibachi grill is a must the kids and adults both loved it. Alejandro at Capella was fantastic as was the food definitely our favorite restaurant out of all of them. Hector is great and we loved playing beach volleyball daily with him and the other guest. We will definitely be back!

Paradisus Playa del Carmen is a great place to have a fun, relaxing time. They have an entertainment team that is in charge of activities / events throughout the hotel on a rainy basis and they are a wonderful experience!The restaurants have different kinds of food, snacks areas and bar. There are sections for adults and families. It’s a huge resort with a private beach. Wherever you are the hotel team is pleased to attend you. Great customer service and super helpful with any questions you have. In the room there is a bottle of water to brush you teeth which is great since the water there is not recommended to drink they provide the water. I strongly recommend it for the whole family or just yourself 😀

Capella was the best restaurant at the resort. We enjoyed it so much we came 3 times. The food and atmosphere were great. They were knowledgeable about the ingredients, which is helpful with a nut allergy. Our favorite part of the trip was the service. Gerardo was our waiter each time. There are no words to describe how kind and welcoming he was to us. Our last night he made us a special dessert to send us off.

A very nice all-inclusive resort in Mexico. Service was great. Food and drinks were all delicious. The resort itself was nice and clean. The room was the same. The pool bar closes surprisingly early some days, so that was a bit of a bummer. Would definitely stay here again, though.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days and 6 nights for a family reunion with 11 adults and 22 grandkids ages 2-16. Pros: The food at the buffet was good. Not exceptional, but good. Some of the restaurants had really good food. - The waterpark was a lot of fun for the kids. - The rooms were big and in fairly good condition. - Room Service for only $5 per meal ordered was really nice. - The mini fridge is stocked with a few drinks and snacks. Awesome for taking with you on an excursion. - The drinks at this hotel are awesome. We were able to order all sorts of drinks at every meal. The kids took advantage of ordering virgin daiquiris and smoothies and thought it was a blast. Cons: The seaweed on the beach was awful. It was left rotting on the beach leaving the water almost black and the smell was putrid. - There is almost no free shade for adults to sit around the pools while the kids play. I think this is a ploy to make more money. They charge $25 - 75 for a shaded cabana, which you pretty much have to do if you want to sit in the shade. - Check-in took us almost 1 hour. After a full day of travel, feeling hungry, and tired, this resulted in a rough first day. - There was a language barrier with most of our meals. We ordered many things that came back wrong, or didn't come at all. Non-alcoholic drinks for kids came back with alcohol, some appetizers and deserts never came, etc. - The cost of this resort was extremely high. We ended up staying at another resort a few miles away for a few days and spent less than a fraction per night.

I love this resort, the staff are kind and friendly. It was a beautiful time in Mexico. I would have given the hotel a 5 start rating if it weren't for two things that I didn't like very much. 1. The hotel is starting to show it age. It is in need of major repairs/Renovations in some rooms. The room we got had cracks in the walls and ceiling. While the AC worked perfectly, I noticed that it looked like it was on it last leg. One of our friend had there room flood due to a heavy rain fall one day. The Resort was excellent in handle this with no problem, as they moved them to another room and upgraded there room as well. But in reality, this wouldn't happen at a newer resort. 2. My second grip was with one of the staff members who were trying to sell me a Timeshare with Melia programs. I didn't like that she was overly pushy when selling the program. I know you have to make a sale, but If I say I'm thinking about it. Then please let me think about it. You don't have to corner me every time you see me and try to force me to get a sale. I didn't like that, and I didn't appreciate it, as I had to do many things to avoid this person. I Shouldn't have to avoid people on my VACATION! Granted I won't hold this against the resort, because one of the other staff was kind and just let us be and it worked out perfect for us. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. But in the future, I may look at other resorts that are more modern and not falling apart over time. I would love to stay here again if they renovate the place, especially the rooms.

Let me start out by saying I greatly dislike giving bad reviews but I am always honest to help others to make an informed decision. Was pretty average compared to the four other places I have stayed in this area over the past six years. I brought my family here, as usual, to see the beach. I could have gone anywhere to hang out in a pool. The beach was no where close to being usable. No attempt to even try to clean it up, very disappointing. Hot tubs on balcony did not work very well at all and showers were not much better. For what we paid I definitely expected better. On a scale of 1 to 10 of a tropical beach I would honestly give it a 6. Hope this helps someone.

This resort is awesome! The food is unbelievable. We opted for a room in the reserve part of the resort. Lots of things for the kids to do. Only bad thing is the beach is completely cover with seaweed. Seriously it's 4ft deep right now. We took the ferry over to Cozumel to day to play in the sand. So if you don't care about the beach it is a great place to visit.
