Good central location. Bar/snacks open 24/7. Plenty of outside options nearby. Steak house next door has great coffee in the mornings. Rooms are smaller, but well designed and comfortable. Somehow the entire building always smells amazing. Every staff encounter was positive, they're friendly and warm towards guests. A little pricey for the room size, but other positives outweigh this, IMO.

We stayed here recently and had a good experience. I have stayed in many hotels in San Francisco and this is definitely one of the best. Nice staff, beautiful lobby and a really nice and cool room where you could change the light of the room and control the temperature from an app. Everything was really new and clean and the room is close to Union Square and Market street and the cable cars. Will definitely be back here again!

Great location, nearby Union square but since not directly facing it, so it’s not too noisy. Near to the tram station which usually very crowded. Walking distance to many good restaurants, bars and groceries. The night street here is clear with 2 crowded restaurants nearby. Their staffs service are top notch and very friendly. The room is small but very comfortable. Minimalist and smart design, clean, with nice bathroom and color changing light. Their lighting, blinds, and TV are all control by an iPad. And of course a Marvin doll in every room! Our trip is a-bit rush so we don’t have the chance to visit the rooftop. Overall great, at first I really concern about the room size as we have 2 big, 1 small luggage and few bags. These normally doesn’t fit well in few compact room hotels we stayed in other places but surprisingly still alright here. Most importantly the service is great which make the overall experience very good. Recommended.

We had an amazing stay at the CitizenM in San Francisco. It was the end of our holiday after a 2,5 week road trip in an RV and we could not have picked a better hotel! The rooms are very nice, clean and with beautiful views. The check-in and check-out was very quick and smooth and the crew members are very friendly and helpful! The interior of the hotel is very cool and I would rate the location a 10/10! Big thanks to the staff! We had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying here when you’re travelling to San Francisco!

This was my first time in a smaller Hotel room and Citizen M. I didn’t care much for anything bigger since I was solo and wouldn’t hang out in the room much. For the good, the layout makes the best with many places to put clothes, luggage and toiletries and the room had a great view. I liked being able to go straight to the elevator to the rooms and being able to skip walking through a lobby. However, should a small hotel room come with a small toilet? The toilet was like a potty trainer for a grown man. Also, the smart TV took time to learn and sometimes didn’t pair with the phone correctly. A physical remote would be better. Late at night the hallway is super Dark, with red carpet just seems like you’re walking through a pool of blood in a bad dream. The biggest fail of them all, was the very bad hallway noise and lack of sound barrier. Loud closing doors, and you can pretty much hear guests and room service even whispering. I would definitely Not recommend unless you need the location, or just staying one night.
