“I've stayed here a few times, but I'm not sure it will continue to be my hotel of choice near Carowinds. I am a gold member and as such, I generally receive an early check-in. We arrived about 11:00 AM. Front desk man Jeffrey wrote down my name and phone number and said he would give me a call when he had a room ready. I didn't hear back from Jeffrey and according to the front desk staff at night, there was nothing in the book. That wasn't a huge deal however; The bigger disappointment was the room itself: 1) The toilet didn't flush. I took off the lid and noticed the flapper chain had rusted off. Fixed it myself. 2) The USB ports didn't work near the bed. 3) There were wire connections with wire nuts on the air conditioner that came out into the floor. On the plus side, the shower worked and the bed slept well. It's location is very convenient to the park. I think I'll try a new hotel next time though. This hotel is feeling very run down and in need of refurbishment. Plus..when the lady told me no sausage gravy during the week, I knew I wouldn't be back anytime soon :)”

“After reading the reviews I still booked the room because they have truck parking and are dog friendly $25 fee). I’m glad I took my chances because they seem to have stepped up and fixed the issues people were complaining about. I saw no evidence of roaches anywhere. The bed was clean and comfortable. The floor could have used a sweeping and mopping. The sandy grit was kind of gross. The breakfast was incredible. Since Covid it’s been hard to find a decent breakfast at a hotel and they go above and beyond. Scrambled eggs, hash browns, link sausage, yummy biscuits, yogurt, cereals, fruits, juices, milk, coffee. If you leave there hungry, it’s your own fault. Outside they have a huge fenced in dog park with doody bags and trash can. The gate is broken so you have to stand guard there but hopefully it will be fixed soon. I was in room 134 on the bottom floor with sliding doors to the pool. They have the handicap chair lift that swings into the pool. The drapes in the room were kind of inappropriate for the bottom floor. If people are in the pool area they can see in the room and the drapes cannot be closed for privacy. I like that the sliding door had 3 security locks although the neighborhood seemed quite and safe. The bathroom had plenty of thick soft towels. The water pressure was absolutely amazing. Just wow. The tub drain had issues. By the time I was done with my shower, the water was above my ankles. The toilet was a disappointment. I’m not sure why they remodeled and used such short toilets. I mean I felt like I was at an elementary school. I’m 5’10” and have weak knees. It would be helpful if grab bars were installed to help elderly people to stand up. They have a well equipped exercise room. Iron and ironing board and safe in the room. Microwave and refrigerator were clean. The front desk clerk was very polite , knowledgeable, helpful and just a joy to meet. His parents should be very proud of him. All in all, I enjoyed my stay here and I will definitely be back. I’ll recommend it to friends and other truckers needing a room.”
